Modified Physical Education


Modified Physical Education is:

  • an individualized program designed, implemented and supervised by a state licensed and nationally certified physical educator and athletic trainer who works under the direction of a physician.

  • for the student who is unable to participate in regular or limited physical education due to an illness or injury


An individualized program is designed to provide for:

  • personal limitations

  • individual health-related fitness needs as injury/illness allows

  • rehabilitation due to injury or orthopedic surgical procedures


LIMITED PHYSICAL EDUCATION is:

  • for the regular physical education student who might be limited due to a resolving medical problem.

  • for the adapted physical education student who is ready to gradually return to regular physical education

REGULAR PHYSICAL EDUCATION is:

  • for students grouped according to five health-related fitness tests.

  • classes designed with activities to improve health-related fitness.

  • for students with no limitations.

Please assist our staff by downloading a copy of our Modified PE form.

This form should be filled out by the injured or ill student's physician & returned to the Modified P.E. teacher.
