Mission Statement
Little Wildcat Daycare is a unique extension of the Wheeling High School Human Growth and Child Development Program. The day care provides a lab experience for high school students who wish to teach or learn to work with children. The students participate in planning and implementing lessons to the children.
The focus of the program for children ages 3-5, is to provide quality childcare in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment while focusing on children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. |

Capacity

- 16 children
- Blended class of preschool-aged children (3-5)
- Children must be 3 years of age by September 1st of that school year
- All children MUST be toilet trained

Hours of Operation
- Teaching Days when District 214 schools are in session, plus District 214 Teacher Institute Days
- Monday- Friday 6:45 am-4:00 pm
- Children are required to be in attendance at least from 7:30 am until 12:30 pm daily
Established Fees
- $5,985 yearly tuition* May change from year to year
- Full weekly tuition is required whether or not child is in attendance
- Payments: $315.00 due typically on the 15th and 30th of each month

Children will be selected to meet the educational needs of the lab program that includes a variety of ages as well as the criteria listed below:
- Siblings who are currently in the Little Wildcat Day Care
- Wheeling High School students children (Limit of 2)
- Wheeling High School Staff children
- District 214 staff children
- Community children

Meals Served
- 6:45- 8:00 a.m. – Cold breakfast
- 9am- snack + drink
- 11:45- hot lunch prepared by Wheeling High School Lunch Program
- 2:30- snack + drink

Activity Schedule
Emphasis is on social interaction, listening, following directions, more positive self-concept, communication skills, large and small motor skills and basic math and letter preparation
- Morning: Structured learning experiences to include: art enrichment and science activities, large and small motor activities, social awareness and more.
- Afternoon: Outdoor play (weather permitting), large motor development toys available. Rest time daily (12:30 pm-2: 30 pm)
- Extras: Field trips, dress up holidays, and Holiday celebrations
