For the first time in Wheeling High School history, the school will be hosting an "Academy Award Style" film festival. The event is the culmination of the newly established film club which meets weekly on Wednesdays directly after school; the club’s sponsors are Mr. Dyer, Art Teacher and Mr. Uhrik, English Teacher.
In order to participate in the event, students are required to submit an entry form and provide a treatment of their film script to either Mr. Dyer or Mr. Uhrik. Students are not required to be involved in and an official member of the film club; however, students are highly encouraged to do so. The weekly meetings will provide integral instruction and information to creating quality films. Further, students will be exposed to a vast variety of filmmaking mediums and techniques that will provide members with direction as they begin their projects.
