Interact with Africa meets today in Room 209 after
school. Bring your Walk Through
Africa Container to decorate and your t-shirt money. Come helps WHS make a difference in our community and on the
other side of the world.
Are you interested in being a Pixie Angel this holiday season? Sign-up for the
secret gift-exchange with your favorite staff member. You can pick up a form by the school
store, rooms 242, and 245 and the Main Hall by the display case. Forms are due NO LATER that December
1st to Ms. Chico room 245.
Students and staff are matched on a first-come, first-served basis so do
not delay.
Attention Juniors interested in majoring in
education. There will be a
fieldtrip to Illinois State University on Thursday, December 3rd leaving from
Rolling Meadows High School at 6:45 am returning at 3:30 pm. Juniors should see Dr. Watson in
Student Services if you are interested.
There are only a few seats available.
All students are asked to check the "Lost and Found"
containers at the back of the cafeteria for any clothing items that they may
have lost during Term 1. All items
that remain unclaimed as of tomorrow will be donated to charity.
Auditions for this year's drama Go Ask Alice are coming soon!
The production is based on the novel with the same name that explores a young
girl's experience with alcohol, drugs and the pressures of popularity. The
auditions well be on Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th at 3:15
in room 118. No preparation necessary. See Mr. Xavier if you have any
questions.
Attention
all seniors. Do you have a
favorite teacher or favorite class?
Are you interested in a career in education or administration? If you answered "yes" to any
of these questions, then Senior Teach Day is for you! This year Senior Teach
Day will be held on Friday, December 11th and will be the perfect opportunity
for any senior to experience a day in the life of a teacher. If you are interested in participating
in this exciting opportunity, pick up an information packet by room 190 or 111
and apply for your favorite teacher's job for a day. All applications and teacher signatures are due by Tuesday,
November 24th. If you have any
questions, please see Mrs. Anderson in the Tech Lab or Mrs. Moore in Driver
Education. Don't delay, pick up an info. packet today!
SADD has meeting today. Please come and join
us right after school at room 204. If you have any questions please talk to
Mrs. Konyar or Mrs. Abat.
Last weekend, eight Spokesman and Yearbook students traveled
to Washington, D.C. for the National Journalism Convention. They brought home
four awards. Bety Camino won an Excellent
award for yearbook student life photography. Dan Malsom
won an Honorable Mention for commentary writing. Luke Sokolowski
also won an Honorable Mention, but for News writing. And for the first time
ever, an issue of Spokesman won Best of Show. The second issue won 8th place.
If you are interested in joining these National award winning publications, be sure to talk to your
counselor about taking Yearbook or Journalistic Writing next year.
Science Olympiad
members. We
have an important meeting today, after school in room 201. Make sure you're there or stop by and
see Mr. Weidner or Mrs. Del Muro before the end of
the day.
Fall Athletes - if you did not attend Sports Awards Night, please pick
up your award in the Student Activities Office.
