Internet Training

 

 

  1. Your school ID with the Internet sticker must be displayed on the computer at all times during Internet use.

 

  1. Students are only to use their own current school ID.  Using a friendŐs ID is a computer use violation. 

 

  1. Computers cannot be shared unless each student displays the proper ID.

 

  1. Students are not allowed to log into another students account.

 

  1. Students are allowed to print only documents for school.  No recreational printing. 

 

  1. Printing is always done from word processing documents rather than from Internet or database pages. There is a printing limit of 3 pages per day.

 

  1. All sites visited are available for staff review.  If you find yourself at a questionable site, leave it immediately or ask a staff member for directions.

 

  1. No chat, MUDS, games, personal email, ad responses or use of inappropriate material including, but not limited to, nudity, drugs, gangs, gambling, violence, and illegal activities.  Exceptions may be made for valid educational purposes if approved by a staff member.

 

  1. Students are not allowed to change the settings on any computer.

 

  1. Classes have priority over individual students working on assignments.

 

 

 

You must be able to do the following:

 

  1. Log on to a school computer

 

  1. Change your password

 

  1. Know how to find and use the District 214 library resources

 

  1. Use Google Advanced search

 

  1. Move to and from the District 214 and Wheeling home pages. 

 

  1. Copy and paste text and images into word processing documents, always including the citation showing where you got the information

 

  1. Move back and forth between screens on the desktop

 

  1. Save files to your student document folder

 

  1. Delete documents

 

  1. Log out of the system
