Frank Bentley, Wheeling Class of '98

alumnibentleyFrank Bentley graduated from Wheeling High School in 1998. While at WHS he was a member of the Harvard Model Congress, Wildstang, Scholastic Bowl, PAC, National Honor Society, Math Team, Science Olympiad, Spokesman, and Leadership Camp, and he served as the school’s first webmaster.

Bentley earned his BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002, and in 2003 he earned a Master of Engineering degree from the Artificial Intelligence Lab at MIT.

Bentley is a Principal Research Scientist at Yahoo Labs in California. He also teaches Communicating with Mobile Technology, a Mobile Human-Computer Interaction class at MIT. And Bentley has recently published a book, Building Mobile Experiences, with MIT Press.

Bentley's research centers on building new mobile experiences to strengthen strong tie social relationships and it has been featured in more than 65 academic publications and patents with more than 435 citations as well as an impact on commercial products such as MotoBLUR and the new Yahoo Messenger. His work combines methods from anthropology, HCI, design, computer science, and business to understand how people adopt new technology in their lives. He has explored the impact of using these new systems in longitudinal studies that last months at a time.


Corey Michael Blake, Wheeling Class of '92

alumniblakeCorey Michael Blake (Winicour) graduated from Wheeling High School in 1992. While at WHS Blake was a member of the Choir, Drama Club, Madrigals, New Dawns, Speech Team, and Peer Tutoring, and he participated in Musical Productions and Variety Shows.

Blake is the founder and president of Round Table Companies (RTC), a storytelling and publishing company that works with thought leaders, CEOs and company founders to create significance and legacy by sharing their wisdom and experiences with the world. He writes for Forbes.com and has been profiled or quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes, Inc. Magazine, the Chicago Sun Times, Sports Illustrated, and the Huffington Post. He is also the author or coauthor of 10 books and graphic novels.

Prior to founding RTC, Corey was a commercial actor who appeared in spots for American Express, Mountain Dew, Mitsubishi, Miller Beer, Pepsi, Wrigley's, Hasbro, and an internationally award-winning commercial for Yard Fitness. He also guest starred on television shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer, VIP, Diagnosis Murder, Fastlane, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and The Shield.
